Migration to SAP S/4HANA is complex. Global machinery manufacturer Krones has expanded its SAP standard in many areas since its introduction and has optimized production planning, for example, with the HSplan/IS SAP add-on. During the group-wide migration to SAP S/4HANA, custom developments and plug-ins make the transition considerably more complex. With external support, a group-wide focus on process optimization and migration tools, Krones has now set the migration process in motion while remaining on track globally with the latest SAP standard.

“We are pursuing a global strategy for production planning and are monitoring the use and acceptance of the tool,” explains Matthias Herzog, responsible for computer-aided production planning at Krones. The analysis showed that around 50,000 new operations are now evaluated with HSi every month, while more than 70 percent of work plans are created automatically.
